Cita previaProvince of Alicante

Where to start

Which floor are you going to?

Benidorm is a town people come back to. One winter turns into a long season, the season turns into a flat in Rincón de Loix, and sooner or later a bank, a notary, a landlord or an employer asks for the same thing: a NIE, the identity number Spain gives to foreigners.

The number itself comes from a short appointment with the Policía Nacional. What takes time is everything before it: knowing which form fits your passport and your plans, paying the 790-012 fee under the right code, finding a cita previa at an office in the province of Alicante, and arriving with every paper in order. We handle that groundwork with you, explained in plain English.

  1. European passport holder EU, EEA or Swiss, and living here or about to: the green certificate, on form EX-18, is your next floor.
  2. British passport Resident before 2021, holding an old green certificate, or moving now: three different routes, one page.
  3. Another passport from outside the EU Visa or permit in hand, the fingerprints and the TIE card come next.
  4. Buying, not moving (yet) A flat or a villa while your home stays abroad: the NIE on its own, before the notary.

How it works

From the first form to the window, floor by floor

  1. Step 1: Tell us where you stand

Write to us with your passport, your plans and your dates. We reply with the procedure that fits your situation, in plain English, and what it involves from start to finish.

  2. Step 2: The forms, filled in with you

Together we fill in the form that fits: EX-15 for a number, EX-18 for Europeans, EX-17 or EX-19 for a card. The 790-012 fee slip comes next, and every paper is read before it goes into the folder.

  3. Step 3: A slot in the province

We search for an appointment at the Comisaría de Benidorm, or at another office of the province of Alicante that lists your procedure, fitted around your flights, your shifts and your signing date.

  4. Step 4: A clear brief for the day

You receive a short note with the address, the time, what to bring and what you may be asked. Afterwards we tell you what comes next: the padrón, the card or the notary.

Oficina de Extranjería, Benidorm

Extranjería Benidorm: the offices on your route

In Benidorm, NIE procedures are handled by the Policía Nacional at the Comisaría de Benidorm, Calle Apolo XI 36. We help people all over the Marina Baixa, from Rincón de Loix and the old town to L'Alfàs del Pi, Altea, Finestrat and La Nucía.

Why people ask us

Help that stays on your side of the counter

  • Your passport sets the route

An EU, a British or another passport leads to different forms and offices. We start from yours, so you only read what applies to you.

  • Plain English, one step at a time

Every Spanish term is explained the first time it comes up, and each step is written down so you can check it at your own pace.

  • One folder, checked together

Form, fee, evidence and copies are reviewed side by side before the day, so a missing paper is far less likely to cost you the appointment.

  • Clear about what we are

This is a private service, independent of every administration. We tell you what we can prepare with you, and what only the authorities decide.
